This dove hunt is a true high-volume wingshooting experience like no other! It will have you pulling the trigger non-stop and piling up the birds! In addition to the excitement of going on a high-volume dove hunt like this, you’ll also enjoy some of Argentina’s best wine and great upscale meals each evening at the outfitter’s lodge. This is a high-end wingshooting experience like no other!
About the Dove:
Doves are graceful, fast-flying birds found in many parts of the world, known for their strong homing instinct and gentle cooing. They typically feed on seeds and grains, which is one reason they thrive in agricultural regions. While doves are admired by many for their symbolism of peace and love, in some areas—especially where their populations boom—they're also considered pests due to the damage they can cause to crops.
One of the most well-known destinations for dove hunting is Argentina. Argentina is home to an astonishing number of eared doves, with this hunting area estimated to hold about 20 million individuals! The species breeds year-round here due to the region’s ideal climate and abundant food supply. With millions of birds in constant flight, the sheer volume of doves makes Argentina a premier destination for wingshooting. Unlike in other countries where dove hunting is seasonal and limited, the Argentine dove population is so dense that hunting in the country is permitted year-round with no bag limits.
The hunting itself is usually done over large fields or near roosting areas where flocks fly in thick, fast-moving waves. It's common to shoot thousands of rounds in a single day, making Argentina a place to test one’s skills and endurance in high-volume shooting conditions.
Despite the intensity and sport of wingshooting, dove hunting in Argentina is also seen as a form of population control. With no natural predators keeping the numbers in check and the birds breeding rapidly, hunting helps limit crop damage and supports the local economy. Without it, the area’s agricultural sector would be quickly demolished by the swarms of these birds.
The Wingshooting Hunting Area and Terrain:
This outfitter hunts over about 32,000 acres of fields surrounding the Parana River and its surrounding wetlands. They use about 30 shooting fields, with different fields being used at different times of the year. The northern fields are used the most for his high-volume dove hunting, as they are closest to where the doves usually choose to roost. There are huge dove roosting areas over this 50 square mile area where these 20 million birds stay. The dove fields are relatively flat and open.
Dove Hunting Seasons in Argentina:
While there is no season for dove, this outfitter only runs these dove-exclusive hunts at his Santa Fe lodge from April through December 15th. However, if your preferred dates are not in this range or unavailable, you can choose to swap to one of the outfitter's other luxury lodges in either Cordoba or Tucuman, where this high-volume dove wingshooting is also available. There is no bag limit for doves in Argentina. The outfitter also recommends that the best month in the season for wingshooting is June, as that is the height of all the bird activity.

Dove Wingshooting Lodge and Accommodations:
The outfitter has a 4-star lodge for this hunt in the Santa Fe province, right next to the Parana River. The main lodge features a patio area with a fire pit, outdoor dining area, and pool, while the inside has a lounge area, an indoor dining room, and a bar. There are 9 rooms here, each with an en-suite bathroom.
The chefs here prepare a variety of local dishes to give guests a taste of the country. The meals and spreads are excellent. Quality wines are selected and paired with dinner each evening as well. There is internet and TV service here, as well as a daily maid and laundry service. This lodge also features a massage therapist with a massage service for an extra fee.
A Typical Day High-Volume Wingshooting:
On your arrival day, you can expect to arrive at camp and be greeted by the staff. Then, you will meet your PH and immediately head out for the afternoon dove shoot. You can expect to hunt that afternoon for about three hours before winding down for the evening and heading back to camp.
For each hunting day after your arrival day, you can expect to wake up early for a full breakfast, then head around 8 am to the fields. Because of the sheer number of doves, the morning session will also be about three hours of shooting. It is likely you and your field assistant will be running two shotguns. While you shoot one, your field assistant will be loading the other, or in the case of a jam or misfire, you can quickly swap out to the other one while your assistant clears the jammed gun. It is non-stop shooting in these conditions, and you can quickly throw thousands of rounds into the air each day!
Once the morning shoot winds down, lunch will often be prepared in the field with a traditional Argentinian barbecue. Local cuts of meat will be prepared and paired with local wines, and hammocks will be set up to relax and enjoy the fields before beginning the afternoon shoot. After another three-hour afternoon shoot, you’ll return to the lodge for appetizers and drinks before enjoying a full evening meal. Be sure to rest your shoulder, as you’ll be heading back out early for more blasting early tomorrow!
Shotgun Rental:
Shotgun rental cost is free for the entire hunt, and shells cost $20 per box.
These shotguns are available to rent. 20-gauge shotguns are used for these hunts.
- Benneli Montefeltro
- Bennelli M1 Black
- Beretta Urika 391
- Beretta A400
If you plan to bring your own shotgun, the outfitter recommends high-quality 20-gauge semi-automatics such as Beretta or Bennelli’s. Modified and improved cylinder chokes are recommended.
Getting There:
To get to your final destination at Santa Fe Airport (SFN), the best international connection is through Buenos Aires (Argentina). In Buenos Aires, you'll arrive at Ministro Pistarini International Airport in Ezeiza (EZE) and from there you'll have to change airports to Jorge Newbery Airfield (AEP) to make the flight to Santa Fe (SFN).
Since you have to change airports in Buenos Aires, make sure that you have at least 4 hours between connections. EZE and AEP are located far from each other (almost a 2-hour drive, depending on traffic).
You can arrive on your check-in date and start hunting that same day. Another option is to arrive a day earlier in Buenos Aires, spend the night in the city, and fly to Santa Fe (SFN) the following day.
If there are no flights available to Santa Fe (SFN) on your hunting date, you can also fly to Paraná, General Justo José de Urrquiza (PRA). Paraná is in Entre Ríos province, which is right next to Santa Fe, and is the same distance from the hunting lodge.
Deposit and Payment Policy:
A 50% deposit is due to book this hunt. Full balance must be paid by wire transfer, credit card, or check 60 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
Deposits are non-refundable. The outfitter may allow a safari to be rescheduled once, if requested a minimum of 90 days before the start of the hunt, at the sole discretion of the outfitter. Rescheduling a hunt for the subsequent year is subject to that year's price list. Any rescheduled safaris are subject to a $150 administration fee to be paid directly to the booking agent. If you are unable to make the trip, you may give or sell it to someone else for the same dates, and you are responsible for notifying your agent of the change. Travel insurance can be obtained to cover unexpected illnesses. A Travel Policy is strongly recommended when traveling to remote areas in foreign countries.
