This premium Bezoar Ibex hunt offers hunters the opportunity to pursue one of the world’s most impressive mountain trophies in Turkey’s rugged Eastern and Black Sea mountain regions. Conducted in vast, exclusive concessions with excellent ibex populations, this hunt is designed for serious mountain hunters looking for a physically demanding and rewarding experience!
The Bezoar Ibex Hunting Area / Terrain
The hunt takes place in the Eastern Anatolia and Black Sea mountain regions of Turkey, known for their dramatic limestone ridges, alpine slopes, and remote valleys. The terrain ranges from steep shale faces to rocky alpine plateaus, with elevations commonly between 1,500 and 2,500 meters, and in some areas even higher. You should be in excellent mountain shape to traverse these rocky and rugged peaks.
Like many other mountain hunts, this is a demanding environment that rewards patient glassing, strong legs, and disciplined shooting. Vehicles are used only to reach access points and access some lookout spots. Much of this hunt is conducted on foot, and hunters should be prepared to hike. The hunting concession here is over 300,000 hectares and is exclusively hunted by this outfitter.
About the Bezoar Ibex
The Bezoar Ibex (Capra aegagrus aegagrus) is considered the ancestral wild goat and is one of the most sought-after mountain trophies in the world. Mature rams are known for their massive, scimitar-shaped horns with prominent ridges, often flaring outward before sweeping back.
These animals are extremely alert, inhabit near-vertical terrain, and rely on eyesight and elevation for protection, making them a true test of a hunter’s endurance and skill. A successful Bezoar Ibex hunt is regarded as a major accomplishment among mountain hunters. You can expect your typical trophy horn lengths to range from 100 to 150 cm, depending on age and genetics.
The Bezoar Ibex Outfitter
This outfitter has been running professional hunts in Turkey for over 20 years. They only operate in Turkey, so they know the country and the environment extremely well. They specialize in Bezoar Ibex and mountain hunts and have expert knowledge of the intricacies of the Eastern and Black Sea Mountains, and operate under government-issued quotas and strict conservation oversight. All his hunts are conducted 1×1, ensuring personalized guiding, careful trophy selection, and maximum effort dedicated to each client. It’s what leads to his over 98% success rate on his hunts, ensuring every client is satisfied with their experience.

Upon arrival, you’ll be met by the outfitter and transferred by road to the hunting lodge. Charter flights are not required. All ground transportation during the hunt is included.
The Bezoar Ibex Hunting Accommodations

The Bezoar Ibex Hunting Season
The Bezoar Ibex season in Turkey runs from November 11 through February 15. The prime period for Bezoar Ibex hunting is December through late January, when mature rams are most active, visible at altitude, and trophy quality is at its peak.
Recommended Firearms and Shooting Distances
Recommended calibers include .270 WSM, 7mm Rem Mag, and .300 Win Mag. Premium bonded or monolithic bullets are mandatory due to steep angles and longer shooting distances. This outfitter does not have rental rifles due to Turkey's firearm laws, so you must bring your own rifle. Paperwork will be handled by the outfitter.
Typical shooting distances range from 200 to 400 meters, with some shots extending farther depending on terrain and conditions.
Packing List
A detailed packing list will be provided to the client after the hunt is booked.
Trophy Handling
Field preparation includes skinning, salting of the cape, and skull cleaning. After field prep, trophies are then transferred to government-licensed taxidermy and dip & pack agents in Istanbul or Ankara 1-3 months after your hunt concludes.
Delivery to the dip & pack agent typically occurs 1–3 months after the hunt. International shipping costs are not included.
Altitude
Typical altitudes range from 1,200 – 4,000 meters (4,000 – 13,000 feet) above sea level.
Medications
Diamox is not required for this hunt.

Due to the remote nature of the hunt, medical evacuation insurance is strongly recommended.

Deposits are non-refundable. Hunt dates may be rescheduled once in the same year if notice is provided at least 90 days prior to the start date. Any rescheduling requires a $150 reschedule fee to be paid directly to the booking agent.
